In order to slim the first Sprint we decided to leave out all the not essential features. After some round of testing we were trying to decide which of these left out feature to prioritise to allow trainer full control over their upload.

We went back to our findings and also asked the trainers which feature would fit best in their current way of working. All the trainers we spoke to agreed that a Draft functionality would be great and allow them to keep working as they were doing: shooting multiple workouts, uploading them and edit them in different sessions of work.

Including this feature also means that the upload workflow needed some re-thinking and a new structure.

As a first step we looked at other major platforms, to see if we could find any golden rules and pattern that would apply to Eastnine Marketplace.

The main ones we investigated were Instagram and Depop. For the first one we observed that draft was only available during the upload process and it was triggered when going back in the process. For the other app, the draft functionality was always available during the upload process.

For how the upload process was currently implemented on Eastnine Marketplace, it made more sense to adopt the Instagram model, but for research sake we designed both versions and decided to let trainers choose the one that would suits better their way of working.

We used Figma to design both versions and then created two interactive prototypes.

Alongside the draft functionality we also wanted to test the archive and delete functionality, in order to see how all the three functionalities would interact.

After having tested the prototype interbally, we sent it to the trainers via Whatsapp for a quicker response.
All the trainers recognized the Instagram model, but felt more confident with the Depop model, even if the upload form was slightly different from the one they knew from the previous Sprint.
This gave us the confident to say that we needed to change the upload form and implement the Draft functionality into it.
